The fourth generation of medical education, brought about by the new technological revolution, has led to changes in the paradigm and concepts of medical education. This article reviews the development process of the three generations of medical education reform, analyzes the connotations of the fourth generation of medical education reform, and highlights its characteristics centered around health, characterized by cross-boundary, interdisciplinary, integrated approaches, and the empowerment of artificial intelligence. It suggests that in the face of the fourth generation of medical education reform, medical educators should actively respond to changes, reconstruct medical education mechanisms and models, adjust curriculum systems, update course content, and improve evaluation methods.
