The fourth generation of medical education, brought about by the new technological revolution, has led to changes in the paradigm and concepts of medical education. This article reviews the development process of the three generations of medical education reform, analyzes the connotations of the fourth generation of medical education reform, and highlights its characteristics centered around health, characterized by cross-boundary, interdisciplinary, integrated approaches, and the empowerment of artificial intelligence. It suggests that in the face of the fourth generation of medical education reform, medical educators should actively respond to changes, reconstruct medical education mechanisms and models, adjust curriculum systems, update course content, and improve evaluation methods. This article recommends that practitioners in the field of medical education actively embrace and adopt the fourth generation of medical education in both philosophy and action, to build a new paradigm of medical education in the context of the new technological revolution and cultivate high-quality talents competent for the Healthy China strategy.
